Meet Abby
Hi, I’m Abby Uyeshiro — the heart behind Abby Cate Bakes.
For me, cooking and baking have always been more than just making food. It’s been a creative outlet, and a way to care for the people around me. There’s something magical about measuring, mixing, and transforming simple ingredients into something beautiful - whether that’s a custom cake, a nourishing meal, or a table full of dishes shared with friends and family.
I started Abby Cate Bakes in 2021 by selling custom cakes and cupcakes, and quickly discovered that my creativity extended far beyond baking. I fell in love with cooking vibrant, healthy meals and exploring flavors from different cultures. That passion naturally grew into meal planning, private chef experiences, and hosting dinner parties under Plated by Abby.
Along the way, I began sharing recipes and behind-the-scenes moments on social media, and I quickly realized how much I love building a food community online. Connecting with others who share the same passion for creativity and good food has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey.
Today, Abby Cate Bakes has evolved into a space where I get to combine all the things I love — baking, cooking, experimenting, teaching, and bringing people together. From elaborate themed cakes to intimate dinner parties, my goal is always the same: to create food that nourishes, delights, and connects.
What’s next? I’m currently working on online courses to teach baking and cooking in a fun, approachable way and daydreaming about, a cookbook that celebrates the heart of cozy chaos in the kitchen.
When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m usually outdoors in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. I am avid cyclist and race mountain bikes, gravel and cyclocross. Whether I’m on the bike or in the kitchen, I love pushing limits, exploring new paths, and sharing the journey with others. And of course, I’m often hanging with friends, family, and my three siblings — the best taste-testers I could ask for.
